I liked Before Watchmen better when it was called Watchmen.
I actually don’t get this project. It’s not like the original Watchmen took place exclusively in the present day. More than half of that book is flashbacks fleshing out all of the characters’ backgrounds and origins! Why would a prequel series to something like that ever be necessary?
I just had it explained to me that the prequel is not going to be about the earlier generation’s crime-fighting adventures, and this was my exact reaction. I mean even the earlier generation is still pretty well covered by Watchmen, but at least there’s a little more room there than with the main characters.
